Out of Darkness

I took this photo on our tour of Imizamo Yethu. Painted on the side of a house is “a light shining in the darkness”. SASA ‘17 has been my light through my darkness. I felt as if I should stay home this Winter Term to dedicate to my family, as my father currently faces Stage 4 Lung Cancer and his condition continues to deteriorate every day. However, with the support of my parents, I set off on a journey that has become the shining light and beacon of hope in my darkness. The faith exhibited by those in places like Imizamo Yethu inspires me, and I could not be more grateful.
