Associate Director, Community Engaged Scholarship Institute, University of Guelph (Canada)

The Community Engaged Scholarship Institute (CESI) is a vibrant and successful social innovation unit within the College of Social & Applied Human Sciences of the University of Guelph. Focusing on building and supporting mechanisms to engage communities, faculty and students, the Institute uses a complex brokering model to both create and carry out engaged research and teaching possibilities, and to address barriers to community engaged scholarship.

The Associate Director will contribute to the ongoing development of CESI by supporting key staff in their program areas, administrative oversight, budget planning and forecasting as well as being hands on in creating opportunities and convening for new and strategic partnerships locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. Program areas include the Research Shop (a graduate student focused response to community need for research), the Guelph Lab (a collaboration with the City of Guelph focused on social innovation labs and brokering between city and university), the community engaged teaching and learning program (supporting project creation and realization for undergrad/grad courses and thesis work, while ensuring quality and impact through scholarship of engagement) and knowledge mobilization. This is a key position in a collegial and dynamic workplace.

Applications are due by April 10, 2017.

For more information about this position and to apply, visit the CESI website or see the job posting on the University of Guelph Human Resources Careers@Guelph.
