As part of the Center for Careers, Life, and Service’s (CLS) integrated model of personal, professional, and civic development, the Assistant Director of Service and Social Innovation is responsible for providing students with distinctive co-curricular service opportunities. This individual is also responsible for advising students as they explore how their service experiences intersect with their academic, civic, and professional interests, goals, and values. The assistant director coordinates service learning work-study and alternative break programs and works with students who are interested in pursuing post-graduate service opportunities. As appropriate, the assistant director will share general career advising duties with the CLS staff, and support the center’s broader outreach to the Grinnell College community.
