VISTA Leader, North Carolina Campus Compact

NC Campus Compact is currently seeking eligible candidates to fill a VISTA LEADER position in mid-November. This is a full-time, AmeriCorps VISTA LEADER position with a one-year service commitment.

North Carolina Campus Compact (NC Campus Compact) is a statewide association of 36 colleges and universities with a shared commitment to educating citizens and strengthening communities. The Compact builds helps to build the capacity of these member institutions through professional development and resources related to civic and community engagement, service-learning, and volunteerism.

Our VISTA program places VISTAs at campus or community non-profit host sites to support programs that benefit low-income people and create pathways for higher education community engagement. Projects address 1 of 3 focus areas: Economic Opportunity, Education, and Healthy Food and Nutrition. VISTA members work to develop partnerships that address these issues by mobilizing campus resources, including student volunteers, faculty, and staff expertise, and/or financial/in-kind contributions.

The VISTA Leader will support 17 VISTA members across NC. The VLDR will be responsible for the collection of performance measurement data, managing needs of VISTA members, and supporting Compact initiatives and events. IN ORDER TO APPLY, YOU MUST HAVE 1 FULL YEAR OF PRIOR AMERICORPS SERVICE. Strong applicants will have: Bachelor’s degree required; experience with college service programs; strong writing and organizational skills; passion for VISTA and North Carolina Campus Compact mission/values. The VISTA leader will serve at the Compact office in Elon, NC, on the campus of Elon University. Elon University is a selective, independent university renowned as a national model for engaged learning.
