Assistant Director, Center for COmmunity Outreach (COO), University of Kentucky

This Assistant Director will serve as a liaison between the CCO and the community, assist in the development and implementation of signature volunteer programs, assist with evaluation and assessment programs and services, and provide supervision to student leaders and interns who support the CCO. Specifically, this Assistant Director will:  Serve as the CCO’s primary liaison to current and potential community partners, conducting site visits to non-profit organizations, maintaining a working knowledge of these organizations, and developing programs and services to support these organizations  Join the CCO’s professional advising team that provides oversight of efforts of the student-driven CCO, inclusive of strategic planning, program development, and fiscal management  Provide professional advisement to the CCO’s signature programs, such as FUSION (For Unity and Service In Our Neighborhoods) and MLK, Jr. Day of Service  Administer VolunteerMatch, UK’s volunteer management platform, by promoting, tracking, and reporting volunteer engagement through the platform  Provide supervision to student leaders and interns who support the CCO

The minimum requirements for this position are an earned Master’s Degree (by the time of hiring) in student personnel, higher education, or another job-related field, plus one year of job-related experience, or the equivalent. Background in student activities, student programming, volunteer engagement, and/or community engagement is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess the following understanding of diverse populations; excellent communication skills and organization skills; knowledge and application of student development theory; ability to advise individual students and student groups; ability to develop, implement, and assess programs; ability to use computer applications and web-based platforms; knowledge of effective advising and supervision strategies.
