10th Anniversary

 

Director, Center for New North Carolinians (CNNC), University of North Carolina Greensboro.

The CNNC was established in 2001 to provide research, training and evaluation in addressing immigrant and refugee issues. The Director will provide oversight of program administration and personnel, develop and maintain funding streams and address community stakeholder needs. The Director will supervise a cadre of highly motivated multicultural staff as well as about 60 AmeriCorps volunteers and contract interpreters. The Director will collaborate closely with faculty and student interns at UNCG and other area higher education institutions to plan CBPR projects.

The ideal candidate must have a graduate degree in a Social Sciences related field.  Academic research and teaching are additional desired strengths but not requirements.  Candidates must have experience working with diverse groups of people and have training in cultural diversity.  Experience with immigrant and refugee services is highly desirable.  Leadership skills necessary to manage and supervise diverse personnel in culturally competent ways and demonstrated experience in supervision of staff is required.
