Joe Morrison, former NC Campus Compact intern and Davidson College student, has won $1000 through the Banking on Youth competition to bring his PAX backpack social entrepreneurship project to life. PAX will design and create durable and affordable backpacks for all ages. For every backpack they sell, they will give one to a student in the United States who is struggling to afford one. The Banking on Youth competition invited young entrepreneurs (age 13-20) to propose a social venture idea through a creative and fun 90-second video. The competition, which received nearly 180 applications, was sponsored by the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA) Foundation, and banks throughout the country, in partnership with Ashoka’s Youth Venture.
