South Carolina Campus Compact Seeks Executive Director

The Executive Director (ED) of South Carolina Campus Compact (SCCC) is a full-time professional position responsible for providing leadership and assistance to member institutions for the purpose of building institutional culture and capacity for service-learning and civic engagement. The Executive Director builds partnerships at the state and national levels between and among institutions of higher education, government, non-profit agencies, foundations and other agencies committed to teaching and learning that prepare students for lives of engagement and service to society. Additionally, the ED identifies and shares access to resources, forums and information to achieve these common purposes while working to promote social justice, sustainability, and local-global partnerships among the higher education community throughout the state.

The Executive Director serves as the primary administrator for South Carolina Campus Compact and is the essential link and representative to the national Campus Compact network. The host institution and physical location for SCCC is Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Articulate, uphold, and model the vision and mission of the public purposes of education and mobilize South Carolina’s educational community to explore its capacity to partner with the community;

· Develop and secure funding from public/private sources to support the advancement of campus-community engagement;

· Foster growth of the organization through increased membership and connection to other state, regional and national organizations;

· Maintain all aspects of membership services, including recruitment materials and a membership directory;

· Manage state-wide organization and budget, collect affiliation fees, matching grant funds and provide the Presidents’ Council with annual or appropriate reports.

· Hire, supervise and lead staff and/or other grant funded positions, i.e. National Service Members;

· Liaise between national Campus Compact and SCCC member institutions.Facilitate networking opportunities and consult with member institutions in their development as engaged campuses and with their service-learning courses and service programs.

Required Qualifications:

· A minimum of 5 years experience in development, higher education administration, or non-profit leadership

· Demonstrated ability to build an extensive network of collaborative relationships with non-profit community partners and other diverse constituent groups

· Demonstrated resource development ability including, but not limited to, securing and administering funding from a variety of public and private sources

· Demonstrated ability to manage projects, goals, training and budgets on a multi-institutional or statewide level

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong organizational and office management skills, including managing virtual teams

· Technologically fluent in MS Office environment

· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

· Flexibility to travel

Salary:

Salary range for this position is $44,000-$50,000K; competitive benefits package.

Organized as a state affiliate of national Campus Compact, our member institutions include public, private, 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities located throughout South Carolina. The SCCC office is located at and hosted by Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.
