Executive Director, Francis Center for Servant Leadership, Pfeiffer University

In continuing with the mission of the University to prepare servant-leaders for lifelong learning, the Executive Director serves as the chief administrative leader of the Francis Center Staff. The Executive Director will work to integrate the university’s mission of leadership and student engagement into all aspects of the university community to include curricular and co-curricular areas. Responsibilities will include overall management of Francis Center programs, which involve Service-learning and ServiceĀ  Sholar initiatives, Honors Program, External Internships and Student Engagement.

Reporting to the Provost, the Executive Director provides overall leadership and management for the daily operations of the Francis Center to include fund-raising, planning and budget oversight, staff development, special events, marketing, scholarship programs, and curricular/co-curricular projects and additional auxiliary programs of the center. Duties also include developing and securing funding opportunities to support Francis Center Programs, working to strengthen and develop existing partner relationships and strategically develop new community connections.

Credentials required include a PhD in a field closely aligned with University academic programs. Also required is an entrepreneurial mindset, experience in higher education service-learning and civic engagement, student leadership facilitation, and collaboration with community based learning and research. Knowledge and experience working with government grant management and reporting, a commitment to diversity and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community, to include staff, faculty and students, is required. A flexible schedule will be necessary to fulfill the requirements of this position.

Pfeiffer University is a private, liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church, whose mission is to prepare servant leaders for lifelong learning. Its traditional undergraduate campus is in Misenheimer, N.C., approximately 40 miles northeast of Charlotte, with additional locations in Charlotte and the Raleigh area.
