When first thinking about protests, I think about PETA because they are constantly fighting for the rights of animals. These people are fighting against using animals skin as fur, just as fur. They fight for many other animal rights but basically they look to educated and stop the abuse of animals. In this particular protest, anti-fur activists covered themselves in fake blood to protest against the use of fur. All the activists got completely naked and laid in cages and on the floor covered in the fake blood. They wanted to show the world how the animals feel in cold, covered in the blood of the animal the shared homes with. They also wanted to show people how humans would look and feel if their roles were reversed with animals. Thousands of people wanted to lye naked in the street covered in fake blood to convey their message. Although they wanted the message to be kind of “in your face” I personally think that is was a bit of over reacting. Sometimes seeing the images of animals being slaughtered would not be considered over the top because it is reality. However, seeing our own kind, naked, shivering, covered in blood and laying in the street, I believe is over the top. There is an invisible line that you have to be careful not to cross when dealing with people because if you cross that line, there is a possibly you will lose credibility and following. Although I believe this protest went a bit far when it came to exposing the human body, there are injustices when it comes to animal abuse. Wearing fur is perceived by these activists as cruelty to animals because they are using the animals solely for their fur. The article represents these activists as brave people fighting for the rights of those who cannot represent themselves, such as animals. This is an extremely popular organization, and its reasons for wanting to fight for the rights of animals are completely valid. Because this organization is so popular and animals are popular as well in society, people fighting for the rights of living things, in my opinion is valid and it should be done.

WOW! This was so weird. and strange. and bizarre. and creepy. Unique but out of line for sure. I really thought this was fascinating how they used humans as examples to draw parallels to how animals are slaughtered and treated.

This was such an intriguing post! I can definitely believe that people are this passionate about something that they would do something that crazy, but it still amazes me. I agree with you and believe it is over the top. Quite frankly I think it is absolutely disgusting!

PETA, always a good protest choice. Loved the picture, I heard a lot about this protest so it was interesting to hear your take on it. Your honesty about this protest was also refreshing, a lot of people would just go along with it.

PETA always takes an extreme approach to their protesting methods. In this case I beleive it was a bit of overeacting but it was also effective.
