Meet Tessa Olinger, a second-year law student from Blacksburg, VA. Tessa received her Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Tech in Political Science, with a minor in Business. After college, Tessa worked at a law firm in Northern Virginia, where she was able to learn about contract law and bankruptcy. She currently volunteers for the Innocence Project and People Not Property. In the spring, Tessa will begin her residency at Medlin Law Firm where she will gain experience in business law and criminal defense. She is most excited to work with the clients at the Business Clinic because it is a chance to gain hands-on experience, while helping small business owners in the community. After law school, Tessa hopes to stay in the area and practice business law and criminal defense.

Meet Hunter Amos, a second-year law student from Greensboro, North Carolina. Hunter received his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics from Syracuse University and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration from Elon University in addition to his Juris Doctor. Hunter worked as a Strategic Services Consultant for a software company for five years before pursuing his Juris Doctor; and interned at a corporate law firm where he drafted and reviewed contracts; analyzed data; and researched and advised attorneys on a myriad of issues in corporate, banking, securities, and cryptocurrency law. Students gain hands-on experience representing businesses regarding entity choice, intellectual property, trademarks, limited patent work, incorporation, and tax exemptions, and Hunter is most excited to work with Business Clinic clients, because he will have the opportunity to serve those in the community while expanding on his business and corporate legal knowledge through practical experience.
