Meet Hunter Winstead and Shawver Adams – new SBEC Student Attorneys!

Meet Hunter Winstead, a 3L from Raleigh, NC. Hunter received his MBA and Bachelor of Science in Government from Liberty University. Hunter also played football at Liberty for 5 years.

Hunter has been interested in entrepreneurship since a very young age. Both of Hunter’s parents started their own companies. His father, Bob, founded the National Youth Football Organization, a Raleigh-based company that runs 7v7 tournaments throughout the country. His mother, aunt, and grandmother also started Kid’s Exchange Consignment Sale, one of the largest consignment sales in the nation.

Hunter also started his own woodworking business in college selling handmade height-adjustable desks. He understands the legal help that entrepreneurs need in order to succeed, and he is excited to serve through the SBEC this fall.

Meet Shawver Adams, a third-year law student from Macon, GA.  Shawver graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  Shawver is interested in business law, particularly as it relates to tax matters, and hopes to advise small businesses and large corporations about tax planning in the future.

Shawver is drawn to entrepreneurship because he comes from a family of farmers and small-business owners.  Shawver’s grandfather and great-grandfather owned an International Harvester tractor dealership in Hawkinsville, GA, along with several farming plots in the area.  During the Great Depression, Shawver’s family lost all its land and assets, but his great-grandfather eventually was able to repurchase the land he once owned and become a successful farmer and business owner again.  Shawver strives to use the gritty work ethic his family instilled in him to serve others, and he looks forward to helping clients of the SBEC.
