AmeriCorps and Service-Learning Program Coordinator, Drake University

Reporting to the Associate Director, Community Engagement, the AmeriCorps & Service-Learning Program Coordinator is 12-month non-exempt, 80% time position responsible for the day-to-day management of the AmeriCorps Community Health Program (75%) and Drake University student-led service-learning programming (25%). The AmeriCorps program is a unique partnership with Healthiest State Initiative in which AmeriCorps members are enrolled Drake University students who are actively working towards a degree while completing their term of service. AmeriCorps members serve as liaisons between Healthiest State Initiative and local schools, businesses and community organizations in order to disseminate information and provide training, education and assessment workshops to rural towns across Iowa.The coordinator will be responsible for all administrative aspects of the AmeriCorps program including member and host site recruitment, training and support, collecting and evaluating data, and ensuring compliance with AmeriCorps regulations. Additionally the coordinator will oversee the day-to-day management of the student service-learning ambassador program and Community Advisory Board. Individual must be a self-starter, detailed-oriented, analytical, able to follow through with assigned tasks with minimal supervision and able to work in a collaborative team. Some evening and weekend commitments as well as travel will be required. Funding for this position is guaranteed for one year with the option of renewal for three years pending grant funding.
