University accounts after graduation

Posted on: May 4, 2016 | By: Ryan Gay | Filed under: Tech Tips

With commencement right around the corner, many graduates might be wondering what actions they should take, in regards to their various University accounts. Here are some helpful reminders for students who are graduating.

Transcripts

If you need copies of transcripts after graduation, you can log into the Transcript Request site using your Elon email username and password.

Email

You will continue to have access to your @elon.edu email address for life, due to our partnership with Google. However, some students opt to have their accounts terminated after they leave Elon. Please note that if you choose to terminate your account, you will no longer have access to the Elon Job Network or other Elon-based systems that require an Elon email username and password to login.

OnTrack

Your OnTrack account will remain active, giving you access to your University records at any time.

Phoenix Card

Upon students’ graduation or official withdrawal from Elon, their Phoenix Card accounts are closed and any balance over $5.00 on Phoenix Cash Account or Food Dollars Account are refunded. Refunds will be sent to the mailing address the University has on file and can be expected mid-June.

Google Drive & VPN

You will continue to have access to files saved to your Google Drive account (through Elon email).

VPN access will be disabled by August 15. If you are in the MED or DPT programs, access will be disabled sooner (these students will receive an exact date via email).

E-Alert

If you have an E-Alert account (which sends you emergency notifications from Elon), you may want to terminate your account to discontinue future notifications. Visit www.elon.edu/e-alert, click on Manage Your Account, and log in. Once logged in, click the Account tab, and follow the instructions to terminate your account.

If you have questions about future technology-related account access, please feel free to contact the Technology Help Desk at 278-5200.
