TLT Offers Training for New and Returning Elon Summer Instructors

TLT offers training for Elon Summer Instructors, learn more, blogs.elon.edu/technologyAlthough the spring semester is just underway, Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) will soon rev up early training opportunities for new and returning Elon Summer instructors.

New Instructors

As you look ahead to your first Elon Summer teaching experience, TLT invites you to attend our Faculty Development Program, mid-February through May, for help designing your course.

The program will introduce you to available online resources and technologies, and provide you with customized support and guidance with course activities, assessments, methods, strategies and more. Features include self-paced modules, community of practice sessions, course reviews and regular consultations with TLT staff. This program will:

  • Provide you with skills and tools to modify your course and enhance student engagement.
  • Give you an opportunity to experience and integrate intermediate and/or advanced Moodle tools.
  • Provide information and methods for creating materials in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Create a community of inquiry dedicated to improving the quality of online teaching through faculty collaboration.

The program will run from mid-February through May, and will include asynchronous modules about Moodle tools and online course design and pedagogy, as well as virtual community of practice sessions, work sessions and consultations with TLT staff and faculty mentors.

Returning Instructors

Are you looking to improve or enhance your Elon Summer 2021 course? TLT is ready to help. This spring, we will offer support programs to assist you with designing or redesigning course activities, assessments, methods, strategies and more.

TLT staff will begin with a Course Review Program, based on online design principles and teaching best practices, from mid-February through the beginning of April.

From mid-February through May, the Faculty Development Program will refresh your knowledge of online resources and technologies, and provide customized support and guidance as you design or redesign your course. Additional features include self-paced modules, community of practice sessions, course reviews and one-on-one consultations, as needed, with TLT staff.
