Keep your files up-to-date with Mesh

Do you email yourself files or carry them around on a USB drive because you use multiple computers on regular basis? After you move your files around, do you have a hard time keeping straight which file is the most up-to-date? If you answered yes to either of those questions, a new product from Microsoft might be the solution.

Microsoft Live Mesh 2011 uses cloud computing technology to sync files between multiple computers assuring that you have the most up-to-date version of the file in front of you. The free service, which is available for Windows and Macs, gives you 5 gigabytes of storage space for most any file type. Mesh allows you to select which folders and computers you would like to sync, and automatically updates each computer whenever a file changes.

Mesh is part of the Windows Live Essentials 2011 package. Learn more about Mesh, and other available tools for saving, sharing, and storing files. Mesh is a consumer product from Microsoft and not part of Elon’s software inventory. Help for Mesh can be found here.
