Guy presenting in front of a classIt’s no surprise that writing is no longer just text on paper. But you may not know that the Writing Center can be a great resource for work beyond your average essay, such as videos, images, and other multimedia assignments. So whether you have a PowerPoint due at the end of the week, want a second pair of eyes to take a look at your video, or need to practice your presentation, the Writing Center is here to help!

The NEW Presentation Practice Room

Want to record yourself practicing a speech or PowerPoint presentation? The Writing Center has a practice room! Located on the first floor of Belk Library, the room allows you to record yourself presenting (and play it back), just by putting a USB drive into a wall panel.

Multimedia writing help

The Writing Center is here to collaborate with student to improve their writing, and that means all writing! Don’t be scared to bring in other assignments besides essays, such as presentation designs, videos, and graphics. Writing Center consultants are trained across the disciplines, and can offer feedback on visuals and visual design. But remember, the Writing Center is not an editing service.

The NEW Multimedia Production Studios

The studios, also on first-floor Belk, are an excellent resource for working on video and graphic projects. The Mac computers in the studios contain several useful applications, such as the Adobe suites.
