Welcome! In January we will begin our adventures in South Africa. While in South Africa we plan to explore the methods of visual art therapy and how they have evolved from the apartheid to the present time. Through discussions with the local people, and researching both in the United States and South Africa, we hope to evaluate the impact visual art therapy has had on those who were apart of the transition period from apartheid to the present.
Throughout our journey we will serve as the Pedi tribe, or social organizers, which will encourage us to facilitate new relationships with both our classmates and the locals we encounter. We will also be focusing on the sustainability of the class as a whole in effort to remain conscious of our environmental impact while visiting and learning from the people of South Africa.
