Meeting again in Namibia: \u00a0Jenn Pierson and Anita<\/h3>\n

Jenn Pierson, a member of the inaugural Class of Periclean Scholars, the Class of 2006, is now teaching in Namibia\u00a0at Omatjete Primary School through the World Teach<\/a> program. Omatjete is a large\u00a0rural village located one hour north of the large town of Omaruru in the Erongo Region.\u00a0\u00a0Most rural residents are subsistence farmers\u00a0from the Herero tribe and speak Otjiherero.<\/p>\n

\"JennAnitaNamibia\"<\/a>At Omatjete she is teaching grades 5 and 7\u00a0primarily English but is also teaching some non-promotional subjects like\u00a0Art and Basic Information Science (BIS, basically library\/basic computing).<\/div>\n

On a recent trip to the capital city of Windhoek Jenn was able to meet up with Anita Isaacs, a two-time Periclean-in-Residence who remains a
\nstrong partner with the Class of ’06. \u00a0She is being supported by the Periclean Scholars Alumni Association as she does course work at the University of Namibia toward a degree in social work.<\/div>\n

Anita was a key figure in the documentary series <\/a>on HIV\/AIDS that was produced by the ’06’s nd “starred in a documentary about her life directed by Erin Barnett.<\/div>\n
