In Moyn’s lecture, “How Did the Holocaust and Human Rights Intersect (and was it a Good Thing)?,” he considers the relationship between the Holocaust and its memory, and the rise of human rights norms and movements. Surveying the post-World War II era, he asks why not only Holocaust consciousness but also human rights activism came so late. The event was sponsored by the Lori and Eric Sklut Emerging Scholar in Jewish Studies Program and the Department of Philosophy.
