Rev. Dr. Angela Yarber from Wake Forest University spoke at Numen Lumen Pavilion as part of the series “The Sexy and Genderful God”
Dr. Yarber is a part-time Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Wake Forest University and Wake Forest University School of Divinity. She has been a professional artist, dancer, and clergywoman since 1999. The author of six books, including The Gendered Pulpit: Sex, Body, and Desire in Christian Worship, her work deals with the intersections among religion, gender, sexuality, the arts, and embodiment.
The series is sponsored by the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, the Gender and LGBTQIA Center, and the new network of Progressive Christians at Elon.
