VT Engage, Virginia Tech’s newly redesigned center focusing on service learning, leadership education, and civic engagement, is seeking a new Director.

VT Engage seeks to equip students to serve as change agents who make the world more equitable and just through their commitment to community and civic engagement. The Director of VT Engage leads a team of dedicated individuals who work in collaboration with student affairs colleagues, academic experts, and community partners to design and implement mutually beneficial initiatives that prioritize community need and partnership development while helping students think more critically about themselves, the communities they work with, and the social issues they encounter. This office embodies innovation, creating exciting new and impactful programs and services to enhance the institution’s mission. The director is integral to the university’s efforts to prepare students to be active, informed, and civic minded global leaders with a passion for addressing complex social problems.

Assistant Program Director, STEM-Corps East, East Carolina University

STEM-Corps East is an AmeriCorps tutoring and enrichment program focused on improving K-12 student achievement in math and science. STEM-Corps East members are placed in a school or after-school program where they serve as a tutor for students who are struggling in math and science classes. This AmeriCorps program is housed in the College of Education.  The major responsibilities of the position are to 1) implement and monitor the program; 2) supervise office staff, members and site supervisors; and 3) ensure compliance with federal and state rules and regulations.

The Center for Community Action and Research (CCAR), in Pace University’s Dyson College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a new full time Program Coordinator (PC).  The CCAR works to facilitate university/community partnerships that put our strengths to work on fulfilling community needs while empowering members of the Pace community to take action to address issues of social importance.  The PC plays an integral role by planning and implementing service events, facilitating discussions and other educational programming on current social and political issues, mentoring students & fostering student leadership, and more.  This is a full-time exempt position.  For more information and to apply, use the link below.

independent, non-profit organization serving as the volunteer center at the University of Virginia. Madison House supervises the activities of 20+ student Head Program Directors and 275+ Program Directors who in turn manage ~4,000 annual student volunteers executing and implementing the mission of the organization to the benefit of approximately 20,000 members of the community.
