The AVC CE reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and is a member of Academic Affairs’ senior staff. The AVC CE provides leadership, management and support to an array of programs, offices and partnerships that connect the talent and resources of the university to the academic, creative, service interests and needs of the broader community, as well as leadership in supporting the promotion of cultural arts functions and activities. The position is the point of contact for issues that relate to off-campus academic, service-related, and artistic engagements that serve individuals and groups “outside the walls” of the traditional campus and provide leadership in working with numerous on-campus and off-campus partners to continuously deepen the scholarly and creative engagement of the university with the community.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold a terminal degree from an accredited university and possess strong communication and analytical skills, a successful track record of leadership, and demonstrated ability to work in concert with faculty, senior academic officers and other vested parties on campus and in the surrounding communities. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience working with academic external programs at the department level or above.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in bilateral articulation agreements, lifelong learning, community arts, military/university MOU development and implementation, regional consortia.

Academic Affairs is the central division for implementing the mission of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Through effective academic policies, practices and programs, it provides leadership for excellence in teaching, scholarship and creative work as well as service to local, regional and global communities. The division allocates resources to recruit and retain faculty scholars and to create a learning environment that encourages students.

The Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs at the University of Missouri (MU) is seeking a full-time Director for the Institute of Public Policy (IPP) to oversee rigorous policy research that supports faculty, practitioners, and policymakers in Missouri and nationally.
This position is a full-time, 12-month non-tenure track, ranked faculty position with an administrative appointment. Requirements for the position include an earned Ph.D. in a discipline related to public policy, public administration, economics, or a related field, in conjunction with professional experience in designing, conducting, and evaluating policy analysis research, services, and education programs.
Key responsibilities include development of collaborations with Truman School faculty, Extension, and the broader academic community to perform research that addresses local, state, and national needs; and to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to secure additional funding to support Institute programs and initiatives.

As a part of the nation’s oldest Catholic and Jesuit university, the Center for Social Justice (CSJ) animates the University’s values and mission through it’s work in research, teaching, and service. A component of the service work includes the direct service work of CSJ’s five signature programs, including the After School Kids (ASK) Program.
The ASK Program is a signature program at CSJ, which seeks to empower adjudicated youth in the District of Columbia to make positive changes in their lives by challenging them with new learning opportunities and teaching the necessary skills to meet those challenges. The Program Manager of the ASK Program is responsible for on-site coordination and preparation of the program sites of a tutoring and mentoring program for court-involved youth which employs up to 150 part-time university student workers and volunteers serving 200 youth living in Washington, DC each year under the direction of the Assistant Director for Youth Justice Programs. Because of the ASK Program’s complexity and responsibilities, the Program Manager has primary responsibility for day-to-day logistics, operations, and student site management. This coordination includes student staff recruitment, implementing staff training, and serving on the professional staff on-call schedule. The Program Manager encourages students to connect their service work with what they learn in the classroom by facilitating weekly reflection and dialogue. The Program Manager participates in CSJ activities, including staff meetings, committees and cross-program collaborations. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversees students’ time submissions and approves all timesheets in GMS by the weekly deadlines. Reporting of program management is made to the Assistant Director for Youth Justice Programs.
- Serves on the professional staff on-call rotation, and will staff two to four sites each week. Program implementation includes activities and program interventions involving youth, Georgetown students, and families.
- Responsibilities include collaborating with community partners and government agencies, involving participation in care coordination meetings, intake sessions, and school visits.
- Involved in program implementation on a daily basis from compliance and risk management to youth and family support.
- Responsible for the direct programming and preparation of student training, and leadership development activities of student coordinators and student staff.
- Coordinates weekly site meetings. Manages student recruitment, hiring, and placement. Coordinates student coordinator and tutor training, preparation, and learning, including student reflections, recognition, and appreciation.
- Participates in cross-program collaboration with other CSJ programs such as DC Schools Project and the DC Reads Program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in juvenile justice, psychology, social work, education, or a related field
- Minimum of two years in community-based youth program management, with adjudicated youth, or comparable experience; prior experience in curriculum-writing is a plus
- Prefer experience working with college students and volunteers, familiarity with university culture, and working in diverse communities
- Availability for evening hours
- Tutoring and mentoring knowledge skills; knowledge of juvenile justice issues; strong written and oral communication skills; and excellent group facilitation and conflict resolution skills

Associate Director for ACT Community Service and Outreach | Appalachian State University
Appalachian and the Community Together (ACT) is Appalachian State’s clearinghouse for co-curricular volunteer opportunities and academic civic engagement. Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement and Leadership, the Associate Director for ACT Community Service and Outreach will provide leadership and administrative supervision to one of four functional foundations within the department. The Associate Director is tasked to work across the entire department to maximize opportunities for student engagement and leadership development. Further, this Associate Director works in collaboration with the Director of Academic Civic Engagement in managing partnerships with a vibrant community of non-profit partners to maximize engagement opportunities for Appalachian State students both in and out of the classroom.
