Program Coordinator, Feinstein Institute for Public Service, Providence College

The Feinstein Institute for Public Service at Providence College has an opening for the Program Coordinator position, a full-time, full-year administrative position which develops and oversees strategic programs and initiatives for the Institute in collaboration with the community and other Providence College stakeholders. Programs currently coordinated by the position include: 1) Community Work-Study, the “community service” portion of the Federal Work-Study program at PC, which involves 50-60 students at community-based organizations and schools; 2) Global Service-Learning, our innovative curriculum-based international immersion/alternative break program, including a co-teaching role in at least one of the GSL course sections; and 3) Extensive and collaborative work on campus and with community-based organizations in the areas of college access and persistence. Requirements for the position are the following:  a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study from an accredited institution; a minimum of two years’ experience in service-learning or experiential education, including some experience with international experiential learning; knowledge and/or experience in programming, grant writing, and higher education community engagement; ability to work with, train, and develop student leadership capacities; ability to build relationships on campus as well as out in the community; excellent time management and organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills. The Institute has gone through an extensive re-visioning process, and has adopted a new Statement of Purpose that reflects its changing priorities. As such, alongside other Institute faculty/staff, the Program Coordinator will continue to guide the Institute in working towards these priorities.
