Communications Associate, College Advising Corps

College Advising Corps seeks a highly motivated Communications Associate who will be responsible for bringing the CAC message to national audiences and CAC’s own constituencies. Specifically, the associate will play a lead role in developing communications that reach the national media, donor prospects, and the education and nonprofit communities as well as CAC partners, including collaborating universities, colleges, and donors. This person will create, develop, and disseminate three kinds of stories, those featuring (i) the lessons that CAC’s national team is learning about educational issues and college preparation through its research and evaluation; (ii) how local advisers and program directors are changing students’ lives; and (iii) why partners and investors have chosen to support and should support CAC’s work.

College Advising Corps (CAC) is an independent non-profit organization that works to increase the rates of college enrollment and completion among low-income, first-generation college and underrepresented high school students. CAC supports students nationwide through two innovative program models. The in-school model places well-trained, recent college graduates from our 24 partner universities as full-time college advisers in high schools across the nation. The virtual model leverages technology to connect well-trained, recent college graduates with high-achieving, low-and-moderate income students across the nation. We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to enter and complete higher education and are committed to supporting students as they navigate the complex processes of college admissions, financial aid, and enrollment.
