As one of the eleven academic Departments and two Institutes or Centers in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHASS), the Institute for Nonprofit Research, Education, and Engagement (INPREE) administers a high-quality undergraduate minor in Nonprofit Studies which ensures students can make an educational difference in the community and world. The NPS minor involves community organizations for hands-on learning initiatives and the courses build knowledge and skills for effective nonprofit leadership. The Nonprofit curriculum gives students an opportunity to strengthen their capacity for nonprofit organization and nonprofit leadership through research, education, and engagement.

Although there are no undergraduate or graduate degrees in INPREE at NCSU; we do offer a graduate certificate which carries graduate credit. We also partner with other departments to offer specializations in Nonprofit Management.

The Institute is a center of expertise which hosts a collaborative community of scholars and practitioners, and a convener and connector for the sharing of campus and community resources to facilitate research-informed policies and practices. Grant and award opportunities are offered to academic scholars and information is provided to assist academic scholars with research publications, presentations, and conferences. The center has the Philanthropy Journal program that delivers news and resource information to help people understand, support and work in the nonprofit/philanthropic works to recognize and solve social problems.

This position serves as the point person in charge of coordinating the planning and executing of various leadership programs of the Institute.
