Applied Learning Program Coordinator, University at Albany (SUNY)

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for Applied Learning/Director of the Institute for Applied Learning, the Program Coordinator provides critical administrative and programmatic support for applied learning initiatives across campus. Duties include:

  • Manage administration of grants, including writing grant proposals, advertising, coordination of proposal review, financial processes and reporting
  • When appropriate, manage administration of academic applied learning programs, such as assisting students with academic internship registration
  • Compile and maintain database of experiential curricular resources, and distribute to faculty across disciplines
  • Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across campus to work on applied learning-related initiatives and projects
  • Assist with applied learning marketing updates, including website updates, writing for publications, social media, etc.
  • Maintain internal budget tracking system, order office supplies, etc.
  • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources, prepare reports
  • Assist in the hiring, training and supervision of student and graduate assistants, when applicable
  • Maintain list of applied learning courses
  • Create and maintain database of external partners for course-based applied learning projects
  • Coordinate evaluation and assessment of applied learning programs
  • Assist in planning events (e.g., workshops, trainings, committee meetings) including logistics, promotion and evaluation

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • Two or more years of relevant experience
  • Experience writing and administering grants
  • Program administration experience
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of experiential education in the context of higher education institutions
  • Experience and demonstrated capacity for working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated experience in addressing issues of diversity and multiculturalism and in building community among different groups in university and/or community settings
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written materials, experience with public speaking and communicating with faculty, staff, students, and community partners
  • Demonstrated understanding of program marketing, including ability to use social media, complete basic website updates, etc.
  • Ability to oversee and manage student and graduate assistants

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
