Director, Blackburn Institute, University of Alabama

The Division of Student Affairs at The University of Alabama is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Director of the Blackburn Institute, a premier student leadership and civic engagement program. The successful candidate will possess an understanding of student development and leadership theory and practice and be passionate about engaging in their local and state communities. This high profile position requires a person whom is skilled at building relationships with current students, program alumni, advisory board members, and members of both the University and greater Alabama community.

Named after Student Affairs pioneer Dr. John L. Blackburn, the mission of the Blackburn Institute is to develop a network of diverse leaders who understand the challenges facing the State of Alabama and the nation and who are committed to serving as agents of positive change.
