Associate Director, Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning and Community Service, DePaul University

DePaul University’s Irwin W. Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning and Community Service Studies seeks an Associate Director to be responsible for day-to-day oversight of Academic Service Learning (ASL) and academic departmental partnerships.

Founded in 2001 to bridge the university’s educational purpose with its Catholic, Vincentian, and Urban mission, the Center serves more than 3400 students per year in courses and programs that employ the service learning pedagogy.  The center encourages engaged scholarship through a community-based research faculty fellowship program, hosts a minor degree program, internships and a scholarship that maintain a strong emphasis on social justice and critical community engagement, and raises funding for projects that collaboratively engage students,  faculty and community partners in an asset-based approach to community and economic development.
