Maine Campus Compact (MCC) is a statewide coalition of 17 college and university presidents established to encourage and support the civic mission of higher education. MCC encourages campus/community partnerships that build on the strengths of communities and higher education institutions to address significant social and environmental problems. MCC fosters educational models, including service-learning, that develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to solve these problems over the long term. We are affiliated with the national Campus Compact network of 34 state Compacts, over 1,200 campuses, and a national office.
Maine Campus Compact seeks a full-time Program Manager who will be responsible for developing and delivering training and resources to support member campuses efforts to integrate service with academic study and to create engaged campuses.
More specifically, the Program Manager will:
•Provide programmatic and administrative support for campus grants on service-learning, campus/community partnerships, and other related topics.
•Assist with training and technical assistance to promote and support service learning development across the state and region.
•Work with VISTA Leader to oversee our eight-member AmeriCorps VISTA program.
•Manage a tri-state EPA grant to embed environmental stewardship and community partnerships on campuses.
•Assist with progress reports and other reporting and evaluation requirements from funders.
•Facilitate collaboration and networking among member campuses.
•Collect and distribute information on model courses/programs, development opportunities, and resources.
•Conduct site visits, plan and help facilitate meetings and workshops, and respond to requests for consultation.
•Support, market, and manage a tri-state faculty consulting program on civic engagement.
•Help plan workshops and institutes on service-learning and other professional development events for faculty and staff. •Update website and maintain regular communications with MCC constituents on programs via web, email, and paper as appropriate.
•Coordinate work and administrative support with VISTA Leader and Executive Director as needed.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree required.
•At least two years of relevant work experience in service learning/civic engagement and program management preferred. •Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
•Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and relate effectively with diverse constituents.
•Self-starter who can juggle multiple job responsibilities.
•Superior organizational skills, including program/event planning and coordination and some financial management of grants.
•Experience working in the higher education setting and/or with national service programs.
•Environmental sustainability and College Access and Success interest and/or experience a plus.
•HTML and web maintenance experience preferred.
•Flexibility to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends.
