This position reports to the Associate Director and provides support for the development of the civic engagement program by working with the Alternative Break Board to coordinate and direct planning and implementation of a comprehensive offering of alternative break trips during semester and spring breaks and serves as a resident scholar for at least two break experiences each year. Responsibilities with the Alternative Break Board include advisement, selection, training, and direct oversight of all activities, as well as budgetary and fund-raising oversight. Incumbent will establish and enhance relationships with community partners to develop a comprehensive, ongoing reorientation program to foster extension and expansion of alternative break experiences.
Bachelor’s degree; one or more years of related work experience; experience assisting with initiating, planning, marketing, implementing and evaluating student programming; commitment to student engagement and cultural and ethnic diversity; experience supervising and advising students; budgetary and administrative skills; proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; effective communication (verbal and written); ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Salary Range: Minimum $27,540 to Midpoint: $34,418
