Civic Engagement Program Coordinator, Purdue University

This position coordinates   student civic engagement initiatives, programs, and services. Coordinate the   Boiler Volunteer Network programs. Advise community engagement related   student groups. Assist with the facilitation of community engagement and   service-learning experiences for students, faculty, and staff. Serve as a   liaison to the community.

Qualifications

Required:   Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, or Higher Education   Administration, or related field.   Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the   ability and competency to influence and build relationships among a diverse   cultural university community.   Knowledge of community service initiatives in a college town environment.   Must have the ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality, assess   situations and determine appropriate action without direction or supervision   and advise students on University rules and regulations.   Excellent counseling and mediation skills with ability to identify problems   analyze information and implement solutions.   Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy   and attention to detail.   Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under   pressure, handle interruptions and meet deadlines.   Ability to collaborate with others and to relate to people of all ages and   backgrounds.   Capable of working independently and in a team environment.   Proficiency in software: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook / Electronic   email.   Preferred:   Knowledge of Purdue University academic areas, registration policies, campus   locations and information sources.   Relevant work in higher education administration.
