Coordinator, Service-Learning & Civic Engagement, Center for Experiential Educational, Iowa Wesleyan College

Iowa Wesleyan College seeks a visionary and hard-working academic professional to lead the academic service-learning and co-curricular volunteer experiences at IWC. The coordinator will be part of the Center for Experiential Education and a member of the faculty who works closely with students, faculty, and community partners throughout our local, regional, and global communities. The coordinator will be charged with developing, coordinating, promoting, and facilitating meaningful academic service-learning and volunteer experiences. She/he will also teach at least one service-learning course, related to leadership or social justice, each semester. The coordinator will report to the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education.

Minimum Qualifications:
• An earned Master’s degree (by July 1, 2013) from an accredited institution in a field of higher education administration, leadership, public service or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in program development.
• Demonstrated commitment to social justice.
• Evidence of experience working with non-profit service agencies.
• Evidence of a strong work ethic.
• Evidence of ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently AND in collaboration with others.

Preferred Qualifications:
• An earned Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a field of higher education administration, leadership, public service or related field.
• Two years of experience in higher education, preferably related to academic service-learning.
• Experience teaching in higher education using service-learning as a pedagogy.
• Experience with course design.
• Grant writing experience.
• Technology competence including: Microsoft office and familiarity with the use of online learning platforms.

Salary: This is an entry level administrative position. Salary will be mid-30s with a 10-month contract.
