East Carolina University’s Intergenerational Community Center is the 2012 recipient of the C. Peter Magrath University/Community Engagement Award for creating a dynamic community center that meets the urgent needs of the underserved community of West Greenville, NC. The other three 2012 finalists included Colorado State University; Miami University, and a North Carolina State University/North Carolina A&T University Collaboration for their Environmental Farming Systems, a programs which seeks to build a sustainable local food economy in North Carolina.
