Davidson Student and NC Campus Compact Student Advisory Board Member Awarded Sodexo Grant

Joseph Morrison, a sophomore at Davidson College and member of the NC Campus Compact Student Advisory Board, was awarded a $500 Youth Grant from YSA (Youth Service America) and the Sodexo Foundation to support youth-led service initiatives addressing childhood hunger. His project, one of only 25 grants awarded nationwide, will help students kick off Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week at the Compact’s annual Student Conference November 11 and 12, 2011. UNC Senior Wins People Magazine Hero Award

Gabe Whaley received $10,000 as the winner of the People Magazine’s annual Reader’s Choice Hero Award for his Kicking4Hunger program.
