Clara Gómez

Clara Gómez is a senior Environmental Studies major with minors in Italian Studies and Professional Writing Studies. She’s from Caracas, Venezuela and her main involvements on campus were with Elon’s Community Garden and Writing Center. Her passion lies in wildlife conservation, writing, research, history, gastronomy and music.

Samantha Lubliner

Samantha Lubliner is a Sociology major with minors in Communications and Professional Writing & Rhetoric. On Elon’s campus Sam works for Campus Recreation in administration and special event planning. She also holds roles in the Sociology department as an administrative assistant and is a member of the Periclean Scholars Class of 2017. Born and raised in NYC, she’s well read in New York pizza, hidden coffee shops, winding subways, and long-lasting candles.

Samantha’s a part of the group traveling to the mountain region—she’s excited for some farmer’s markets and general stores!

Maggy McGloin

Maggy is an ambitious, creative, and innovative student with a passion for writing, editing, and . She is an English major with a concentration in Professional Writing & Rhetoric and a Communications minor at Elon University. When she’s not focusing on her studies, Maggy enjoys traveling, cooking, listening to music, and reading anything hilarious. After graduating in May 2017, she plans to pursue an editorial, publicity or copywriting position.

Jordan Stanley

Jordan Stanley is an English major at Elon University with double concentrations in Professional Writing & Rhetoric and Creative Writing to balance her career goals and personal aspirations. Her love for writing extends to her positions as an Elon Writing Fellow, Writing Center Consultant, and Secretary for Elon’s Sigma Tau Delta chapter. After studying abroad in South Africa last J-term and living in Vietnam to work this past summer, Jordan has come to realize and appreciate the value of culture. Only after being immersed in unknown, whether it was by being welcomed in or stumbling upon it after becoming lost, she has fallen in love with how a crossroads of perspective builds empathy, tolerance, and inquisitiveness that translates to all people.

Kate Flinn

Kate Flinn is a senior at Elon University studying strategic communications and professional writing. Kate is a creative content producer for Live Oak Communications and also works as a student coordinator in Elon’s Center for Leadership. In her free time, Kate enjoys cooking and curling up with a good book. Following graduation, Kate hopes to find a career path that combines her passions for writing and design.

Abbey Foucart

 

Abbey Foucart is an English major with a concentration in Professional Writing & Rhetoric at Elon University. She has minors in Psychology and Environmental Studies & Sustainability and works as a lead consultant at the Writing Center. Abbey is very passionate about the environment, specifically concerning sustainable farming practices and bat conservation, and has aspirations to use writing as a way to promote activism in these areas.

Lauren Franceschini is an English major with a double concentration in Professional Writing & Rhetoric and Creative Writing from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She spends her time working in the Center for Writing Excellence and as the Editor-in-Chief for Colonnades, Elon’s art and literature journal. After graduation, Lauren hopes to go into a career in editing or publishing, preferably abroad in London.

Ciara Corcoran is a senior double majoring in English Professional Writing & Rhetoric and Drama & Theatre Studies. When she’s not working as a Consultant at the Center for Writing Excellence, Ciara can also be found completing her undergraduate research about the student experience at Elon. This Northern Virginia native relocated to Elon University, with a brief study abroad stint at Trinity College Dublin. In addition to Ireland, her travels have taken her down Highway 64 as part of the Coastal Plains group. After graduation, Ciara hopes to teach English abroad before pursuing a career in publishing.

My name is Christian Kowalski and I am a senior majoring in English PWR and minoring in Political Science and African and African American Studies. I am currently a Lead Consultant at the Elon University Writing Center and a member of the Periclean Scholars Class of 2017. Through my time at Elon, I have had the opportunities to travel abroad to Nicaragua and South Africa along with the many weekend excursions I’ve taken to explore the Eastern United States. After graduation, I aim to work in the nonprofit world focusing on community development and growth.

Molly Spero is a junior English major with a double concentration in Literature and Professional Writing & Rhetoric, and a minor in Classical Studies. Molly lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, and much to her New Yorker family’s relief, does not have a southern accent. She is an Honors Fellow and works in the Undergraduate Research office. To keep her sane, she plays ultimate Frisbee on the women’s club team and runs in 5k races, with the goal of running a half marathon. Traveling is something that she’s learned to enjoy and hopes to continue. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career in editing and publishing.
