I brought an Elon keychain to New Zealand as my item. I’m not very good at making things and I thought an Elon keychain would be something someone would use often and help remind them of me and the other Elon students that person met after we had left. This turned out to be a perfect item I think because I gave it to Douglas! I gave it to him when we got off the bus for the last time at the Wellington airport and thought he was the perfect person to give it to. I know we will all remember Douglas and our time together for a very long time so I wanted to give him something to help him remember us and all the places we went together and the things we did. I hope he uses it for his keys because he is a man that certainly uses his keys a lot and I’m sure keeps them quite close at all times. Douglas taught me and the other students so much during our time in New Zealand and though many of us didn’t get close with him personally, we all loved Douglas and missed him when we were in Australia. He was responsible for so much of the knowledge I now have about New Zealand and I am so thankful for that. I spoke more in depth about Douglas and what I learned from him in my other blog post specifically about him but I want to reiterate how great a guide he was and how we will all remember him for so long. I wasn’t able to get a picture of us together or a picture of the keychain, but I remember the experience vividly and I really hope he enjoys it and remembers our group for a long time.
Welcome
