In the film V for Vendetta, the character V is definitely is a hero willing to die for a cause. He is willing to start the fire of a rebellion to end the oppression that has been occurring in his country. He knows what he is getting into, but is willing to sacrifice everything in the name of justice and vengeance.

I believe a character that is relatable to that type of behavior is Harry Stamper (who is played by Bruce Willis) from the movie Armageddon. Although the factor of revenge isn’t an aspect in the film Armageddon, the issue of Harry being a phenomenal and selfless hero is a major similarity. Harry Stamper and A.J. Frost (Ben Affleck) are oil drillers who are sent to space in order to save the planet from a giant asteroid, but when things go from bad to worse, Harry sacrifices himself for A.J. by staying on the asteroid and destroying it with himself on it; he not only saved A.J. but the entire world.

I feel that these two stories and heroes are connected in the ways of sacrifice. Being selfless is such a truly wonderful quality that heroes possess; that quality is one of the many reasons we define normal people and heroes.

Great comparison. These are two totally different people that become similar types of heroes with their acts of selflessness. In the end both give their lives for others.
