D is for Dedicated

“People shouldn’t be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.”

In the movie, we see the actions of V and how it impacts the world around him. One thing that separates his actions from the rest, however is his dedication to the cause. From the very beginning of the movie, the audience can easily see that in everything he does, he is dedicated and committed to the cause. When we meet Evie, we can immediately see that she becomes a priority to V and that from then on, his dedication becomes not only for his cause but also now for his new love interest Evie.

One of the most compelling scenes in the movie was when Evie was in a sort of jail cell because she had been captured by the government. they wanted information from here about the where abouts of V. Little did she know, however, that all the torture, starving and hardships that she endured were done by none other than V himself. He wanted to see if Evie was committed to the cause and to him just as much as he was. V went to extreme lengths to make sure that everything went the way he wanted. This dedication is just one of the many ways we see V take advantage of the situation to make sure that it goes the way that he wants them. The images and the sounds are even more compelling because the set the tone for the entire movie. During that same scene, Evie is subject to losing her hair upon entering the “prison”. V wanted to make it as realistic as possible for Evie while she was in the jail to make it more believable as well making sure that her heart and mind were in the right place. The image of Evie in the “prison” with her hair shaved and in that orange jump suit, made the audience truly believe that she was actually captured. But the one thing that I struggled to understand was that Evie was dedicated to V even before V had done anything significant for her except save her from getting arrested for being out after curfew. In my opinion, dedication is a common theme in this movie because its not only present in V’s action for his cause but also for his love interest, Evie.

Dedication was a great choice to show the characters point of view and characteristics. Without the image of dedication the way we view V would have been completely altered. The D for dedication earns our respect for V, his cause, and his love.

I agree also, Dedication is a strong way to describe V, he stated how this plan that he had took years and he had done nothing but dedicated his time into his works and for a plan this big and everything he went through, it had to take a huge amount of dedication to pull off.

I agree with the fact that dedication was a great way to describe V. Without dedication V would not have been able to accomplish his goals in the movie. Dedication is key in this movie.

Dedication is definitely one of the main focuses of the film. Everything V was trying to accomplish was through dedication and the drive to keep on going.
