Association for Business Communication

Students in the Spring 2013 Introduction to Professional Writing and Rhetoric collaborated as a class to produce effective marketing materials for the Association for Business Communication (ABC). Students began by researching other professional communication organizations to provide context for their recommendations for ABC. After the initial research and report was compiled, students broke up into four groups to create sample marketing materials. These materials included rack cards explaining how professional writing graduate students, faculty, and professionals in the field can benefit from joining ABC. Other groups worked on a mock-up video and social media posts, and the last group designed a flyer and guide specifically to help market ABC’s annual conference.
