Jennifer Brigman is a Licensed Professional Counselor, currently serving the students of Elon over on south campus in counseling services. Hailing from rural eastern NC, life has provided Jennifer with many and varied experiences in religion and spirituality, which have converged to form her rich love for diversity. Growing up in the hyper-conservative Bible Belt of North Carolina during the late 80s and 90s, her worldview was openly shaped by bigotry and segregation, though the terms themselves were taboo. In her twenties, after two amazing, empowering childbirth experiences she encountered an excruciating but beautiful spiritual awakening of insurmountable consequence. Since then, she’s been on a continued journey to reevaluate her worldview, self-concept and has deconstructed and rebuilt her religious beliefs. Her journey, thankfully, has resulted in increased compassion, advocacy and desire to experience life with those from whom she was once segregated.
