Community Engagement Coordinator, University of South Florida

The Community Engagement Coordinator will serve as a liaison between campus and community-based organizations working to identify, build, and maintain transformative campus community partnerships. This position reports directly to the Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist community partners in identifying and structuring their needs into engagement opportunities for USF partners.
  • Assist faculty to identify and facilitate partnerships that contribute to successful community-based research and teaching opportunities.
  • Coordinate events related to service-learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with faculty to promote high-impact teaching practices.
  • Assist faculty and community partners with basic data collection and needs assessment activities.
  • Attend community meetings as USF OCEP representative. Organize events to facilitate faculty/community interaction.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on USF and community partner needs and activities.
  • Contribute to OCEP’s communications, marketing and grant writing efforts.
  • Document, analyze and assess community engagement data.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the program responsibilities and two years of professional experience; or Master’s degree in an area of specialization appropriate for the program.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree and two years of experience. Experience in community outreach and partnership building; experience in a university setting; knowledge of Tampa Bay area nonprofit and government agencies; experience with report and/or grant writing. Experience with Service-Learning and Community Engagement. Professional background in Higher Education. Speaking/reading knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
