Florida State University’s Center for Leadership & Social Change seeks a collaborative, creative, student development educator to lead initiatives at the intersection of service, diversity, and leadership. The Student Program Coordinator will work with colleagues to transform the lives of students, faculty, and staff through community engagement, leadership education, and identity development.
The successful candidate will possess experience in the realm of community engagement/service, with an emphasis on leadership and diversity. Reporting to the Assistant Director of the Center for Leadership & Social Change, the Program Coordinator engages in administrative, programming, and educator roles, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:
– Support for campus service-learning efforts, including both management and training support for Center-based service-learning efforts, as well as support, training, and professional development for faculty involved in service-learning. Responsible for campus-wide service-learning data collection, and recognition and awards related to campus/faculty service commitment.
– Daily operation of Center Outreach Services, including the Community Outreach Program and Community Ambassador Program, and plays a key role in the coordination of the Service Leadership Seminar, Service Scholar Program, and Post-Graduate Service programs. Supervises graduate assistants and Federal Work Study students, performing performance evaluations as necessary.
– Continually seeks information about local nonprofit community, manages a comprehensive, up-to-date list of nonprofit organizations (including Leon County Title 1 Schools) for student referral, and maintains relationships with key volunteer coordinators across the community in order to stay informed of volunteer opportunities for students.
