The Faculty Engagement Associate will join a team of professional staff and students to support and further the mission of the Center for Civic Engagement. The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) works with communities within and beyond Binghamton University’s campus to provide various rewarding and meaningful opportunities to students, faculty, staff, and community members. The CCE supports the attainment of academic, personal, and professional growth through civic engagement to develop informed, active and engaged citizens.
Description of Duties:
The Faculty Engagement Associate (FEA) will lead the expansion of faculty support and professional development initiatives to further faculty participation in a variety of community-based activities, ultimately furthering Binghamton’s goal of recognition for distinction in community engagement. Under the Director’s supervision, the FEA will oversee the programs and strategies aimed at supporting and engaging faculty in forms of experiential education. Primary among these initiatives is assisting in the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for expanding and strengthening the integration of service-learning and other community-oriented methodologies into academic courses. In conjunction with CCE staff, the FEA will also be responsible for creating additional community partnerships to provide project-based research and learning opportunities.
Salary: $53,000+ depending upon qualifications and experience
