Assistant Director for Service-Learning, Georgia Southern University

This position provides direct assistance and guidance on implementation of effective service-learning pedagogies and partnerships; works directly with faculty to enhance teaching and learning strategies pertaining to the implementation and utilization of service-learning in the academic classroom; fosters partnerships among faculty, community partners, and students to facilitate service-learning; responsible for conducting and updating the annual community assessment project to ascertain the assets and needs of the local community; oversees the Service-Learning Facilitator program including, but not limited to, recruiting, selecting, and training student facilitators and placing them with faculty partners; convenes and guides the service-learning Faculty Fellows group and their activities advocating for and supporting the use of service-learning as an effective pedagogy.
