Reporting to the Director in the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, and Public Service (CSLEPS), the Associate Director works closely with the Director to provide a shared vision between CSLEPS, its team, and many community partners engaging with students in the world around them to develop as ethical leaders and global citizens. The Associate Director will be responsible for developing partnerships and collaborative relationships with NC State staff and faculty, as well as community agencies. Additionally, the Associate Director will be responsible for designing, implementing, and coordinating a campus-wide public service scholars program in order to provide increased opportunities for students to engage in public service while at NC State and beyond.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related area of study
• 3-5 years of related professional experience working with college students in a higher education setting
• Demonstrated proficiency in budget management
• Experience developing and coordinating service/volunteerism/civic engagement and leadership programs at an institution of higher education
• Prior staff or student supervision experience and demonstration of superior management and sound decision-making ability
• 2-3 years supervision experience of undergraduate and/or graduate students
• Experience demonstrating visionary and forward-thinking work
• Experience successfully designing and leading assessment and evaluation initiatives to evaluate and assess learning, programs, and services
• Established track record of sound evidence-based decision making
• Experience integrating knowledge of social justice, inclusion, power, privilege, and power into one’s work
• Experience working and communicating with diverse populations
• Demonstrated culturally-inclusive advising, supporting, and coaching strategies
• Demonstrated experience assessing the developmental needs of students and organizational needs and advising student leaders
• Experience forging strategic partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders that have created opportunities for learning and service
