Director, Key Center for Service-Learning and Community Citizenship, UNC Asheville

Reporting to the Associate Vice-Chancellor of Student Affairs, the Director of Service-Learning & Community Citizenship has the primary responsibility to serve as an educator and advocate about the value of engaged learning, teaching, research, and service and to provide students with opportunities to participate in and develop lifelong skills related to civic responsibility. This position manages the daily operations and planning/execution of several student leadership programs, including (but not limited to) the Community Engaged Scholars, Alternative Service Experience, Student Reflection Leader and STRIVE Mentors. The duties of this position include teaching one course/semester as well as program development and implementation, supervision and advising, general administration, and internal and external relationships and partnerships. The Director of Service-Learning & Community Citizenship works to strengthen curricular and co-curricular service-learning and civic engagement initiatives sponsored by the Key Center and throughout the university.

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina, UNC Asheville is the designated public liberal arts campus in the University of North Carolina system.
