Assistant Director for Undergraduate Research and Program Partnerships

Northern Illinois University is inviting applications for the Assistant Director for Undergraduate Research and Program Partnerships in the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning. This exciting position will lead the Undergraduate Research team in the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning to provide high quality support to NIU faculty and staff working with undergraduate researchers and develop, implement and assess undergraduate research.  Particular attention is given to understanding student engagement, persistence factors and mentor relationship development. Keen understanding of student development theories and Liberal Education and America’s Promise and High Impact Practices literature is essential for scaffolding program participation and ensuring student success.

Program Advisor in the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning

Northern Illinois University is inviting applications for the Program Advisor in the Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning. The Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning’s Program Advisor will direct the development, enhancement, and expansion of other academic enrichment programming and high-impact practices (HIP) throughout the campus community. This position will oversee the promotion, collection, dissemination and reporting of students involved in HIPs across the university. The Program Advisor will collaborate with other campus units to enhance and scale up mentoring and student engagement opportunities. A key function of this position will be to support information sharing across campus units engaged in assessment tools and reports associated with HIP tracking. This position will coordinate efforts among Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Alumni Association, Registration & Records, and Enrollment Management.
