Program Coordinator, Campus Compact (National)

Campus Compact Program Coordinator

Campus Compact is a national coalition of more than 1,100 colleges and universities committed to the public purposes of higher education. We are a network comprising a national office and 34 state and regional Campus Compacts. As the only national higher education association dedicated solely to campus-based civic engagement, Campus Compact enables campuses to develop students’ citizenship skills and forge effective community partnerships. Our resources support faculty and staff as they pursue community-based teaching and scholarship in the service of positive change.

The Program Coordinator provides support for member campuses through the coordination and administration of Campus Compact programs and events. The Program Coordinator is a point person for members: communicating opportunities, directing people to resources, and working across the network to align and strengthen higher education civic engagement at the local, state, and national levels for maximum impact. The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide logistical and content support for Campus Compact’s student fellowship program and national faculty award. Duties include general program management, communication, committee oversight, and materials development.
  • Serve as the lead contact for members seeking resources in support of their work. Duties also include proactive communication about opportunities to take advantage of programs, events, and other resources.
  • Support network activities through coordination, communication, and outcomes tracking.
  • Contribute to the development of event offerings through support for fundraising, communications, logistics, and planning.
  • Other activities as assigned in support of Campus Compact’s mission.

Qualifications:

  • BA required
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously—flexibility
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills—integrity, reliability
  • Self-motivation; ability to take a project and run with it
  • Experience with or aptitude for Word Press or other CMS, social media tools, Microsoft office suite
  • Commitment to the common good demonstrated through participation in community organizations, volunteer service, advocacy, or other activities.
  • Experience working in higher education or the nonprofit field preferred
