Associate Vice President for Global Learning and Leadership Development, Agnes Scott College

Agnes Scott College announces a national search for an Associate Vice President for Global Learning and Leadership Development to lead and oversee a new initiative – SUMMIT – which reinvents a liberal arts education for the 21st century. As the College celebrates its 125th anniversary, this initiative will transform the College into a center for leadership in a global society by preparing every student to be an effective change agent. Reflecting the holistic education this initiative affords Agnes Scott students, the Associate Vice President (AVP) will report directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College as well as to the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students. The preferred starting date is June 1, 2015, or as soon thereafter as is feasible.

Agnes Scott College (ASC) is a highly selective, independent, national liberal arts college for women, located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia. The College stands in the company of America’s top colleges dedicated to providing a dynamic liberal arts education as the foundation for a successful and meaningful life. A diverse and growing community of scholars, ASC educates women to think deeply, live honorably and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times.

SUMMIT is a global learning and leadership development curriculum exclusive to Agnes Scott. It provides all students, regardless of major, with an individualized four-year program designed to develop their personal leadership abilities and understanding of complex global dynamics. The inaugural Associate Vice President for Global Learning and Leadership Development will provide direction for and have the opportunity to shape the SUMMIT initiative. The AVP will work closely with faculty, academic affairs and student life staff, students, and the broader community to transform students’ experiences both inside and outside the classroom. The College seeks a collaborative visionary who can turn ideas into reality and build a signature initiative that strategically expands the Agnes Scott footprint.
